Did you know that
there are an estimated
285 MILLION WIDOWS
around the world?
Since 1997, The Loomba Foundation has been working tirelessly to raise global awareness for the cause of widows, who are often marginalised or ignored in society, facing injustice, discrimination and extreme poverty.
In recent times, we have seen many more women become widowed or displaced through the Covid-19 pandemic and the recent armed conflict in Ukraine, which brings fresh challenges and needs.
This year, we are celebrating our 25th anniversary on June 23, which is International Widows Day. In partnership with Barnardo’s, we’ll be raising funds to support mothers and their children and dependents who are fleeing from war-torn Ukraine to settle in the UK.
Celebrating 25 Years of Empowering the #VoiceOfWidows

On The Loomba Foundation’s 25th anniversary, we recognize the contributions of our benefactors and look back at key milestones achieved in advocating for the cause of widows.
Project Partner
Barnardo’s is a British charity founded in 1886 that works to protect, support and nurture vulnerable children. Over the years, they have helped thousands of children live a healthy and happy life.

The Loomba Foundation has partnered with Barnardo’s, the UK’s largest children’s charity, to support children and families fleeing Ukraine to settle in the UK. There is a critical challenge to ensure that each of these families receives the support they need, as quickly as possible, to give them the best chance.
Donations will be used to provide each family with a voucher of £ 100 to be spent in any of Barnardo’s 630 physical shops or online outlets on essential items including clothing, toys and furnishings. Our hope is that the voucher scheme, funded by our fundraising efforts, will help to support the immediate needs of 1000 women and their dependents escaping the fighting and devastation in Ukraine.
